Students in the sixth grade participate with their social studies classes in an Archaeology program. Students learn how archaeologists use a scientific approach to studying the life of past cultures. These scientists carefully recreate historical events through observation of the artifacts and other clues left behind by these former inhabitants of Calvert County. Students look into the past through the study of artifacts and dig sites at the park. Students learn the techniques for conducting an archaeological dig with the education staff of the park.
